Frédérique Cournoyer Lessard studied in film production at Concordia University as well as in circus at the National School of Circus of Montreal. As an emergent filmmaker, she works on the integration of the circus universe and poetry in films. At the age of 14, she won the Vidéastes recherché-es prize. Her last short (STEP, 2015) has been presented in several festivals in Canada, United States, France, Germany, Korea and Brazil. She lives and works in Montréal. Shot in Tunisia and France, her documentary debut, Rue de la Victoire was presented in world premiere at Hot Docs and in international premiere at the El Gouna Festival, Egypt.
