Born in the Quebec of the sixties, Agathe is an intelligent and curious child who is also asthmatic. The whistle of a train she hears while sleeping in her bed at night fuels her fantasies of a mysterious parallel world. She lives in a suburban bungalow with her artist mother, who earns a living working as a secretary in a downtown fabric store where a gender-variant man also works. One evening, Agathe puts on makeup, gets dressed up, and manages to enter the bar where Maurice-Barbara sings. There, she meets Frank, a young writer who will enrich her life by opening her mind up to amazing perspectives.
